welcome to the philosophical studio.
Meet Gabriella Lillian
I use art as an outlet to talk about topics that are often hard to vocalize. From my journey of coping with mental illnesses, being a woman in a patriarchal world, and responding to philosophical ideas of human nature and feminism, I explore how art can imitate life.
❋ Every Stroke Tells a Story
Each claw mark, drip of spackle, splintered wood, and tattered yarn explores feelings that are beyond words.
❋ My Body is the Paintbrush
The conversation between my body and the materials allow me to tell my stories. The materials give me a direct response to the feelings that I pour into the work.
❋ Art That Get Us Talking
In a world where there is stigma surrounding emotional vulnerability, my art can be the starting point, the catalyst for people to listen to each other and engage with each other on a deeper intimate level.
❋ Shaking Up The Narrative
From a lineage of blue collar workers, I use materials that are associated with male dominated fields. I want to show the duality of women’s ability to be the homemaker and house builder.
